about

Hi there, I'm Monica. I grew up in Austin, TX. I went to Texas A&M (whoop!) and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Health in May 2011. After graduating, I married my best friend. Marriage has been such a sweet time of growth for both of us. It is beautiful, challenging, and wonderful. I love life with this guy, and I am so thankful for him. We lived up in the DFW area for about 4.5 years. During that time, I went back to school and graduated with Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in May 2014. I started out working as a Registered Nurse in ICU, and then we moved to Austin in December of 2015 for job changes. I now work as an RN in PACU and I love it. And I love being back home in Austin!

What I do: Registered Nurse in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Recovery Room)

Hobbies: I love reading a good book on a rainy day, camping (when the outdoor temperature isn't 150 degrees Fahrenheit), afternoon trips to coffee shops, writing down my thoughts, watching sunrises/sunsets, quiet time with Jesus, road trips, time with family and friends, and the list goes on.

My parents and my sister: Love them like crazy. So many good times together. We have way too many laughs together, and I'm not complaining :)

So there's a little bit about me. I write in spurts..seasons of writing frenzies followed by dry spells. This is not a regular, daily, weekly, or even monthly blog. It is a "whenever I feel like it" kind of platform. When I do sit down and make time to write, it can be so therapeutic. My goal is to write often, but I also don't stress when it doesn't happen. Thanks for stopping by to read my intermittent thoughts! Enjoy :)

With love,
Monica

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1:2-3
This is the quote that inspired the name for my blog site. My goal is to have joy and peace in my heart, even when times are hard, and to spread love to all those around me. I try to focus on the gifts in every situation and strive to have an attitude of gratitude. Here's to living life with a joy that is pure. <3
