Stop and smell the roses.

This week, I have been reminded of how important it is to stop and smell the roses. To never take one breath, one moment, or one blessing for granted. But to praise God for all that He has given me. It's Purple Day.

September is World Alzheimer's Month, and today, September 21st, is Alzheimer's Action Day. Purple is the Alzheimer's Association color, so today I am sporting purple to support all those affected by this disease. As some of you know, I worked in an assisted living home for individuals with Alzheimer's several years ago.

Times.

One of my favorite songs is "Times" by Tenth Avenue North. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful. I first heard this song during college when I was first discovering what it meant to have a relationship with God. Growing up, I always tried to do the right thing. I went to church on Sundays, was nice to my parents and my sister, worked hard in school, etc.

Labor-less Day Weekend.

For Labor Day weekend (zero labor involved...), Steve and I decided to enjoy time with family and also planned a getaway for ourselves for the end of the weekend. We spent Friday evening with Steve's parents. So blessed with amazing in-laws! Saturday morning, the men got up early to go dove hunting...annual tradition.
