I practically live at Starbucks.

I am currently taking two online classes - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology - to finish up my prenursing requirements. Because they are online, I don't know a single person in either of my classes. So, study groups are nonexistent for me.
I study well on my own, but I am learning that it was much easier to study in College Station where everyone else was studying on their own too. It's so different here - nobody else is studying! They are either at home with kids during the day or at work. Lately I have been thinking back to when I studied at A&M, and I have come to realize how much motivation I had simply from seeing others studying around me. I think when people near you are working toward a similar goal, it encourages you to push through and stay focused. Everyone seemed to provide motivation to everyone else. Now, I go to Starbucks (probably 4 out of 5 days during the week - just to get out of the house so I don't go crazy!) and practically everyone there is dressed business professional, conducting interviews or business meetings. And then there I am - jeans and a t-shirt - feeling completely under-dressed to be sitting in a Starbucks. Actually quite comical.

During the past two days I have spent a total of 8 hours at Starbucks. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy a good cup of Starbucks coffee. And the people at the one I go to are wonderful (they have memorized my order now and they notice when I'm not there - I always wanted to be a regular somewhere). But there is something about the atmosphere of a small, local coffee shop that I am craving. The warm, cozy, artsy vibe of local coffee shops - something about it helps me get in the study mindset. Sadly, there aren't any good ones around here that I know of...please enlighten me if I'm missing something!

Starbucks - you win this time.

Starbucks study break. So thankful to be loved by my Father!
