Stop and smell the roses.

This week, I have been reminded of how important it is to stop and smell the roses. To never take one breath, one moment, or one blessing for granted. But to praise God for all that He has given me. A family friend's passing last Monday reminded me how short life can be. How insignificant my small complaints are relative to the bigger picture. How any moment could be my last.

I have spent a lot of time in thought this week. I want to live my life with the realization that EVERY minute I have on this earth is a gift that I don't deserve. It is my goal to love others well, to serve joyfully, to speak words of kindness, to listen, and to glorify the Lord in all that I do. I think it is so easy for us (I know it is for me) to get caught up in the worries of this world. But our God is bigger than ALL of the challenges that we face. God created this world, and He can and WILL give us the strength we need to overcome life's trials. In the end, the momentary afflictions will be insignificant. So, I am taking time to stop and be thankful. Every day is a gift, and I want to treat it as one! 

It is my goal to slow down in life. To stop going through the motions and to really live.
