Several family members and friends have suggested that I start a blog. For the past few years, I have always wanted to start one, but I think the fear of not keeping up with it has been the barrier in the way of my acting (I don't like to start something and leave it unfinished).
However, I have been thinking more and more about starting one lately and decided it was something that I strongly desired to pursue. Now, I don't know that I will be able to post daily as some other awesome bloggers that I know, but my goal is to start by posting at least once a week. My desire for this blog is not to build myself up (I'm really not so grand), but rather, to glorify the God of the universe, who is better than anything or anyone. The inspiration for the title of my blog is from the verse below.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1:2-3
My prayer for myself and for everyone who reads this is that as we face hurdles or mountains throughout life (and they will come if we haven't reached them already!), we will remember that God is for us, not against us. He is stronger and bigger than our plans, and He can see over those mountains that we face (this is so easy for me to lose sight of in times of trial). My hope is that we rely on God to sustain us through these momentary afflictions, and consider it pure joy, placing our trust in Him. This is something that I am still trying to grasp, but so thankful for God's grace! It is so easy to be focused on the temporary struggles of this life (I find myself worrying about the smallest things sometimes), but when I remember to put my earthly life into perspective, it is only but a brief moment in God's great plan. So grateful to serve a loving God who is full of grace.
