My Valentine

Now that it's been a month since Valentine's Day (this post is way overdue), I just wanted to share a bit about my sweet man. Even though it's sort of a silly day, it's always fun to throw in another date night!!

Steve got up early to make me breakfast - blueberry muffins, eggs, bacon, and coffee. Yum. I was greeted with beautiful roses (which I found out later he had hid in the dryer...clever). He made a vase out of a wine bottle that said "you are the most special girl in the world," and he had a sweet letter for me at my seat. After breakfast and before he was about to leave, he showed me a stack of cards that he had for me, and told me that there was a sweet phrase on each one for me to read every hour of the day while he was at work...They were even labeled with the time I was to read them. My guy is quite the romantic :) so thoughtful.

He surprised me later by coming home from work early, and brought home ingredients to make shrimp scampi...another yum. He told me to sit back and relax while he prepared it, even though I offered multiple times to help! So sweet. Turned out AWESOME. He seriously is quite the chef. Then we watched Toy Story 2. Yup, that's right. SO fun :) I just love date nights with my man! So thankful to be married to my best friend.

beautiful!

so creative.

On February 1st, I started a fun project that I mentioned in my last post. I got the idea from here, and I was so excited to give it a go. Every day I thought of something sweet I wanted to share with Steve, wrote it on a heart, and posted it on a ribbon that we had hanging on our door. It was so fun to see him look for a new one every day, and I loved coming up with the phrases. It was a really neat way to focus on all of the positive qualities in my husband, and after Valentine's Day (when the project technically "ended"), I found myself wanting to continue coming up with more sweet things to say! I think it is so important for husbands and wives to encourage and uplift their spouse. I know Steve and I make this a part of our daily lives. I hope this idea can inspire you to do something similar with your loved ones (spouse, kid, parents, grandparents...)!

I printed out the template from Jones Design Company on some scrapbook paper.

Hope you all are doing wonderful!
